In March 2006 I decided to start studying Chinese. There is no particular reason why I chose to do so, just the general interest in learning something completely new. For many years I was interested in the cultural development of China. Even more, I have great pleasure writing Chinese Characters and very much enjoy the famous art of calligraphy.

After quitting my job, searching the internet, I have chose Easyou as the school where I wanted to learn Chinese. In July 2006 I started my studies in Beijing. The first nine weeks I spent with a host-family. During that time we became very close friends and spent a lot of time together. In September and December I returned each time for about 10 days during the holidays . Every time I decided again to continue my Chinese studies in Beijing I deiced to return to Easyou.

Easyou has become my first choice for learning Chinese. First starting with group courses, I now have changed to individual courses to focus on my personal needs. Each class I felt very comfortable, even with different teachers. The atmosphere is very familiar and I enjoyed very much going to class each day to learn Chinese.

During my time here in Beijing I had a lot of free time with other students to chat about their experiences made in different language schools. I realized that the main reasons why I continued my studies at Easyou are:
  • Close contact with the people working at and with Easyou
  • Excellent support in questions of the daily life in Beijing
  • Small classes and the pleasure learning with native Chinese teachers
  • Location centred in the heart of Beijing
  • Unique and excellent experience with my Chinese host family
Easyou is a one of the best learning oppurtunities in China, that introducted me to the Chinese culture. This is by far, one of the most important aspects. Chinese is not just another language, it is also a gateway to 5000 years of history and the opportunity to participate in a very dynamic and fascinating process of change.
